I said this in the introduction to this challenge / Journey, but it bears repeating:
Choose one thing from the list. You are welcome to do more if you like; but this is not intended to burden your time, and resources. Each week we will offer a new list of steps Do that which will benefit your household best. If you do anything at all, you will be better off for it. This journey is asynchronous so you can begin this journey anytime throughout the year. In fact I first invited people to join the journey mid February. I recommend starting at the beginning, No need to play catch up. You can start by checking out the “challenge” introduction or jump in at Week One
Happy prepping!

Food*:
30 lbs wheat OR 10 lbs cornmeal
And/Or
Three 16 oz bags of rice
And/Or
Peanut butter, 16 oz per person
Household:
Plastic plates, bowls and utensils
And
2 packs disposable cleansing cloths (baby wipes)
72 hour kit:
Flashlight with extra batteries added to each 72 hr kit.
Emergency $
Add $4 to your emergency money ziplock bag (in each 72 hr kit if possible)
Family Prep:
Talk to your kids about the purpose of their 72 hour kit and what they will have in it. Help them make a list of very important items (comfort items) that might be needed in their kit. No kids in your household? Consider the comfort items that you might want in your kit. A book, word puzzle, hard candies, or favorite lotion, etc.
Water**
Water storage matters! Some sources advise against storing your "potable" consumable water on a cement floor unless placed on cardboard/planks to prevent contact with the cement. Look into this and decide for yourself if this is good advice.
*Food is personal and people have different dietary needs/restrictions and tastes. For example, my household has medical restrictions on sodium, potassium, and high phosphorus foods. We are also advised to eat fresh as much as possible. So we look for lower sodium options in some canned foods and we limit foods higher in potassium, and phosphorus (like peanut butter). As Always, You know your household’s needs best. Modify to suit your needs.
** It would be great if you can add water to your supply each week.
